Elle was the inaugural production for The Art Party. The play was never performed
or published in Genet's lifetime and The Art Party's production was the English
language premier.
Elle was adapted by Alan Cumming from a literal translation by Terri Gordan, and
was directed by Nick Philippou. It played a short, sell-out run at The Zipper
theatre on 37th street in Manhattan in July of 2002.
